OSVR disponible en Steam

Los cofundadores de Open Source Virtual Reality (OSVR), el consorcio de realidad virtual de código abierto más grande del mundo, anunciaron una actualización de Steam que brinda soporte para el contenido de OSVR. Este anuncio significa que ahora se tiene acceso al contenido de realidad virtual (RV) universal a través de un solo punto de distribución.

“Este es un gran hito para la realidad virtual, pues le brinda a los usuarios acceso a más hardware y contenido, así como apoya la visión que comparten Valve y OSVR de brindar a todos contenido VR totalmente abierto”, indicó Christopher Mitchell, líder de OSVR de Razer.

«OSVR le facilita a los desarrolladores de juegos soportar cientos de dispositivos en tanto que a los vendedores de hardware les ayuda a aprovechar el contenido de alto nivel”, aseguró por su parte Yuval Boger, CEO de Sensics. “El contenido de OSVR que se puede encontrar en Steam hace mucho más sencillo distribuir y obtener contenido que sea compatible con OSVR”.

“Nos complace anunciar el soporte para los títulos de OSVR”, aseguró Augusta Butlin de Valve. “Steam es una plataforma para todos los desarrolladores y añadir el soporte para OSVR amplía aún más las ofertas de contenido para los millones de jugadores que hay en Steam”.
